Curriculum

Reading/Writing/Science:

Students have been putting together their Google Slides about their Genius Hour topics.  Many of them are turning out very well!  I will try to share each student's slideshow with you!

Math:

We have finished all of our math units.  Now we are just reviewing some of the harder concepts.  It would be great if students continued to work on adding and subtracting, telling time to the half hour, counting money, and identifying fractions over the summer.

MakerSpace/Play

We are learning a lot about how to problem solve and work together during play!

Curriculum

** Note on Finger Spinners - We know students really enjoy these, however, it would be helpful if they were kept at home.  Students are using them at inappropriate times and I am afraid that one will get lost.  Thank you for your help!

Reading/Writing/Science:

Students have been working hard to research for their "Genius Hour" topics.  They all seem to be excited about what they are learning.  Next week, we will write about our topics.  Students will use their notes to write each of their four chapters.

Book Baggies:

All books should be returned from our book bags.  I need to return the books to the book room.  

Math:

We covered a lot of topics this week.  Students reviewed place value, 3D shapes, and >, < and = signs.  Next week, we will review the unit and take our Unit 9 test. I am hoping to take our test on Tuesday, June 6th.  After that we will do more review of topics we've learned this year.

Unit 9 Skills

o I can measure length

o I can add and subtract large numbers

o I can compare strategies

o I can identify 3D shapes and make new shapes

o I can make and name equal shares

Unit 9 IXL Skills - Students may use IXL to help them practice these skills.
